Wild Eagle Encounter

Look up! Here’s comes an eagle, on the fly. And watch as it swoops down, its talons grabbing a fish from a pool of water.

Nadua, white tailed eagle with a 6.5' wingspan, will grab a plastic fish from the pond and return it to trainer Krathwahl’s glove for a treat. Joining Nadua will be Sheeba, a bateleur eagle whose species is endangered. It’s considered the most majestic of African eagles.

Parakeet Paradise

Here’s a chance to get personal with parakeets.

A 24' enclosure will feature 100 budgerigar parakeets in a variety of colors. For a small fee, visitors may enter the enclosure with a handful of bird seed and spend a few minutes with the birds.

Great Maine Lobster Hunt

Enter to win an all-expense paid trip for two to Bangor, Maine, a lobster trapping experience, traditional Maine lobster feed, and a cruise to nearby landmarks.

Billy Bob Faulkingham, a boat captain based in Winter Harbor, will host the visitors on his boat, FV 51 where they’ll hydraulically retrieve lobster traps on Frenchman’s Bay.

In addition to checking traps, Faulkingham and his FV 51 will cruise around Ironbound Island with its 100' sheer cliffs, around Egg Rock Lighthouse Island for close encounters with seals and eagles, and for views of Cadillac Mountain and Acadia National Park’s Schoodic Point.

Nature’s Provisions

Several vendors, offering a variety of flavors with their edible products, will be grouped under the theme of Nature’s Provisions.

The vendors include Daugherty “with everything huckleberry,” Fred Sauce of Bend, Juan BBQ Sauce of Christmas Valley, Oregon Jams of Klamath Falls and B&D Meats of Roseburg. Plans for the Nature’s Provisions display also include olive oil and wine products.

John Getz, a mushroom expert from Florence, will be available to answer questions and provide information on different varieties and picking and cooking them.

How to Enter

Entry Delivery and Deadlines

All entries must be physical prints sized 8x10, 8x12, 10x10, or 11x14 inches. All entries must be matted; no frames or hangers are permitted. Prints should be securely mounted and packaged to prevent damage during delivery.

All entries must be physical prints and delivered in person or by mail to one of the participating venue offices listed below. Digital submissions will not be accepted.Entries must be securely packaged, clearly labeled with the entrant’s name, contact information, and contest category, and must be received no later than 2 days before the start date of the corresponding show. No after-hours or weekend drop-offs will be accepted.

Submission Guidelines

  • Print Sizes Accepted: 8x10, 8x12, 10x10, and 11x14 inches (all entries must be matted; no frames or hangers)
  • Physical entries only–digital submissions will not be accepted.
  • All entries must include the following information:
    • Name of the photographer
    • Address
    • Camera used
    • Email Address or Phone Number
  • A limited number of entries will be accepted per category on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Submissions accepted until two days before each show for in-person delivery.
  • Winners announced the day before each show.

Eligibility

  • Open to residents of Oregon and Northern California.
  • Participants of all ages are welcome (under 18 requires parental consent).
  • Each entrant may submit one photo per category.
  • Photos must adhere to one of the contest themes: Landscape, Wildlife, or Trail Camera.

Editing Guidelines

  • Basic editing (cropping, color correction, contrast adjustments) is permitted.
  • Composite images and AI-generated content are not allowed.
  • Trail Camera Submissions: Photos must be taken on the entrant’s owned or permitted trail camera. Basic color correction and cropping are allowed; overlays, borders, or added graphics are not.

Copyright and Usage Rights

  • Photographers retain full copyright of their images.
  • By entering, participants grant the organizers a non-exclusive license to use submitted images for promotional purposes with credit given.

Judging Panel

Judging will take place the day before the corresponding show at each location. A panel of professional photographers and outdoor enthusiasts will evaluate entries based on creativity, composition, technical quality, and relevance to the category theme.Winners will be announced on the official contest website: agentofthewild.com/photocontest

Disqualification

Entries damaged in shipping or not properly labeled may also be disqualified.
No late entries will be accepted.
Entries may be disqualified if they:

  • Fail to meet size, format, or matting requirements.
  • Contain offensive, plagiarized, or inappropriate content.
  • Include composite imagery or AI-generated elements.
  • Are submitted digitally.
